Title: | cut for grave 2015-09
Notebook: | 1109 | |
Context: | 800 | |
Date: | 2015/05/21 | |
Description: | The context shape in plan is oval. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are vertical. The break at the base of the cut is gradual. The base of the cut is flat.
Notes: | We had found the foot of an adult at the southern end of grave 2015-08, which did not belong to either of the skeletons in that grave, so we knew we had another burial extending to the south. We could also see a covering tile for the burial sticking out of the northern side of grave 1996-01. So the northern and southern extents of this grave (2015-09) were already clear although the cut had veen erased in both directions by later burials. The eastern side of the cut was also clear, but we did not at first see the western edge, so we started context 794 to better define the cut - and found it underneath grave 2014-05.
