| Description: | The soil compaction is loose. The soil is poorly sorted. It is mixed- see description. | |
| Notes: | Cleaning of loose dirt and material inside well 833, in preparation for excavating its contents. Some material likely fell from context 831 directly above. Comes down on a cone-shaped deposit of harder-packed dirt, probably from an earlier falling event (top elevation 83.33, bottom 82.95). Soil is a mixture from different contexts. Coin 536 - sieve Coin 537 - sieve 24/06/2015 Larkin Kennedy, Rossana Valente Animal bones: land snails, bovid, extremely fragmentary (1.78 kg) all thrown. LN PJK 25/6/26: Pottery from this context was temporarily saved to see if it mends with any material from lower in the well, or adjacent pit. It was not, however, lotted, and will eventually be thrown. | |
