Title:   Third pit north of unit 2 Room F
Notebook:   1108
Context:   87
Date:   2014/04/15
Description:   The context shape in plan is circular. The top break of the cut is sharp. The sides of the cut are convex. The break at the base of the cut is not perceptible. Truncation: truncated by 55, a later pit, leaving very little of the cut 87 or its fill 75..
Notes:   Cut 87 is filled by deposit 75. the cut and the deposit were the earliest of a series of cut and pits dug in the are through the floor layer of 43, 64, 82, and 106. It was apparents that 87 was cut for an early pit that was then truncated by two later pits dug nearly on top of it. Only the outer curvature of a small part of the cut survived after these truncations. The pit and cut would have extended further west and south from where we excavated the current deposit. So little of cut and fill remain that it is difficult to conjecture the purpose of the pit. Perhaps it was used for some robbing event from the rubble pile in the area.
