Description:   Corinthian capital, from a right corner volute: at bottom part of 2nd ring of acanthus leaf, pointed leafed, with long triangular eyes between petals; leaf folds over at top. Behind and resting on it is long volute, with a squared projecting rib on outer face, spiraling outward in three rotations. Square boss on back face of volute, which is only roughly blocked out, for attachment to neighboring volute (A 1079B). Tooling: flat chisel and point, no drill. Broken from 2nd capital from east end, south side, of Temple E.
Material:   Moderately coarse-crystal striated white marble with laminating fractures.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., broken by tourist: upper corner acanthus leaf and volute; broken below attachment to abacus.
