Description:   Rectangular impost capital for rectangular column, with a 0.03 flat vertical band along top edge followed by a straight inclined decrease (ca. 10 degrees) on sides followed by a slightly rounded, convexly inclined surface starting 0.07 m below the top. On both short ends, surface slightly concave with a cross in a circle surrounded by acanthus leaves, flaring towards top at a general angle of 50 degrees. Top and bottom roughly picked, bottom with horizontal grooves for a rectangular column resting within a raised band. motif.
Decoration:   Decoration carved in low relief, with cross (0.095 x 0.095) stem longer than arms, interior edge of cross outlined with incised lines. Cross encircled with a double raised ring, the outer sprouting acanthus leaves at its top. Circle around cross (diam. 0.125). Encircled cross flanked by acanthus leaves. Similar to AM-46 (Scranton 1957, Corinth 16, cat. 109) and AM-262 (Scranton 1957, Corinth 16, cat. 110) though lacking dart.
Material:   White marble
Condition:   Complete or intact. Complete except chipping at edges and pieces of corners missing. Carving remains clear and full dimensions preserved.
