Description: | Poros altar cut with architectural features imitating large altars. Rectangular box with four free-standing roughly square feet, surmounted by two narrow horizontal raised bands (W. 0.002) on all sides and then two slightly wider bands, lower one (W. 0.008) with torus profile, upper one with slight convex profile (W. 0.010), above this at each corner is cut upright curved triangular feature (antefix?) at lower edge of which raised diagonal band (W. 0.005) extends upward meeting at center at top to form triangular pediment on each side. Hemispherical depression on upper surface with Diam. 0.070 and depth of 0.022. Wobbly. One foot does not touch ground. Similar to idea of A-1981-9 and A-1982-2 but much smaller and more finely carved. Terracotta parallels more elaborately moulded and painted. Closest parallel from Nymphee (). | |

Condition: | Complete or intact. Single piece preserving complete altar. Chipped and worn. Large fracture running on both sides of one foot bisecting quarter of altar. Stuccoed. Traces of ash in depression. | |
