Description:   Marble impost of fine, sharp, detailed work. Compare work at Delphi (Laurent, B.C.H., 23, 1899, p. 220, fig. 5A) and Basilica A at Phthiotic Thebes (Soteriou, Arx. Eph., 1929, p. 65, fig. 70), the latter about 450, the former fifth-sixth century.
Decoration:   Chi-rho cross monogram within a circle, flanked by a water leaf and an acanthus at the corner on each side. Similar to AM-46 (Scranton 1957, Corinth 16, cat. 110).
Material:   Unusually hard, crystalline, white marble, marred by darker veins and a large irregular nodule of larger crystals of the darker material.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt.
Period:   Late Roman (5th -6th c AD)
