Description: | Kotyle with fine flaring fall-ring foot, with undersurface irregularly pared away from bottom. Deep body with max. diam. at lip, with slight convex profile. Two horizontal loop handles set below fine vertical lip. | |
Decoration: | Exterior of foot glazed, edge and resting surface reserved, interior glazed; 2 small concentric circles on underside. Widely spaced rays on lower third; upper two thirds glazed red, firing to black. At base of glazed zone a thick purple band between white lines. White line below nabdle zone with vertical lines setting off handle roots. On both sides a single bird (goose?) in white silhouette in the middle of side; black on handles, with interior of handles reserved. Interior glazed red, to black in places, with two white lines below lip. | |
Material: | Fine reddish-buff clay. Black paint fired orangish on the lower body. | |
