Description:   Pheidian mug with low torus ring foot, flat resting surface, flat undersurface. Squat globular body, wide concave rim H00.021, curving out to nearly horizontal round lip. Single vertical handle, double round, attached to shoudler and lip, with ends splayed out along lip.
Decoration:   Resting surface, reserved, interior of foot glazed, undersurface reserved, washed with miltos. Vertical ribs on body with row of impressed circles at base of ribs; beneath handle, upside down palmette above which row of 6 tongues. Rib with beading at base of rim. Lustrous black glaze over all.
Material:   Fine light red clay.
Munsell Color:   slightly yellower than 2.5YR 6/6
Condition:   Complete profile. 11 joining frgts., complete profile, 1/3 foot, bottom, 9/10 body to rim, handle complete.
