Description:   Spouted mug or jug with round body, low straight rim with groove just below lip on exterior, vertical strap handle attached to mid-body and lip, cylindrical spout with upward inclination on lower shoulder. Similar to C-1934-1466 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat. 62)
Decoration:   Brown glaze on exterior upper body, interior rim and interior lower body. Set of ridged lines on upper body just below rim.
Material:   Red clay with frequent small to large subrounded spherical and tabular white and gray inclusions, and common small to large rounded spherical and angular platy voids.
Munsell Color:   2.5YR 5/8 (red)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving approx. 1/3 body, small part of rim, handle and spout broken off at end.
Period:   Middle Byzantine (802-1058 AD)
