Description:   Bowl with vertical ring foot, flat resting surface and flat undersurface. Deep echinoid body, turning up vertically to inward and outward thickened rim, flat on top. Suspension hole drilled through foot with several tries to either side.
Decoration:   White slip on interior and overlapping exterior of rim. Interior painted with brown slip: large bird to lt. with long bill, dotted circle for eye, long neck decorated with rows of dots, rt. wing down and filled with dots, zigzags and fringed; lt. wing extended, filled with rows of dots alternating with spirals. Elaborate floral sprays extending from wings, with large flower beneath one. Groups of bars on rim. No final glaze.
Material:   Semi-fine hard-fired clay, fired buff at surfaces and core, to pink below surface, with frequent fine to small black and rare white inclusions; some voids.
Munsell Color:   Surface: redder than 10YR 7/4
Condition:   Complete profile. Four joining frgts., complete profile, nearly half bowl. Glaze missing.
