Description:   Chafing dish with flaring convex body, inturned rim offset on interior by protruding ledge, rounded lip, vertical strap handle attached to upper body. Similar to C-1936-426 (Morgan 1942, Corinth 11, cat.6)
Decoration:   Dark brown glaze on interior.
Material:   Coarse very pale brown clay with common small to large rounded spherical and tabular and subrounded tabular gray, white and red inclusions. Frequent small and medium angular platy and rounded spherical voids.
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/3 (very pale brown)
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving approx. 1/8 rim and body, start of handle.
Period:   Late Byzantine (1059-1210 AD)
