Description:   Vase with vertical ring foot, tapered resting surface and convex undersurface, squat globular body tapering to a possible vertical neck. For shape, cf. Iznik Pottery Kiln Excavations, 1989, p. 148.
Decoration:   Fine rays on lower body, broad glazed band with red line at bottom, top. 2 thin glaze lines define figured zone: lt. to rt.: 4 front legs of 2 centaurs ? to rt., front pair bent. Tip of head ? of one bent, struck by spear shaft of which in dilute glaze. Legs of lunging nude warrior to lt., with lower edge of shield ? Overlapping his back leg is extended leg of 2nd warrior to rt. Blob rosette, Limited incision for anatomical details. Trace of purple on bent centaur head. Interior glazed.

Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving all of foot, 3/5 of body and start of the neck.
