Description:   Plate with vertical ring foot, flattened resting and undersurface. Shallow wide-flaring body, low vertical rim, round lip.
Decoration:   White slip on interior. Covering floor is winged animal ? facing left, preserving lower half of body, legs and part of folded wing; wing has incised and dotted scales at base, incised flight feathers, dotted scales covering body. Amorphous filling element to lt. Groups of brown dots on lip. Clear glaze on interior and overlapping rim.
Mythology:   Sphinx ?
Material:   Moderately fine reddish clay with scattered white, black inclusions.

Condition:   Complete profile. Single frgt., complete profile. Over half foot, 1/4 body and rim.
