Description:   Cyma kantharos with stem foot, flat resting surface and conical undersurface, with molded exterior in two degrees; wide lower with straight sloping sides ending in beveled edge, with single groove running around it, upper a high, narrow ridge with a square profile articulated from lower by thick, shallow groove. Short convex stem attached to foot by curve. Medium-wide body with large, convex lower and upper concave, flaring out to a wide, tapered lip. Two vertical strap handles with rectangular thumb rest attaching to just below lip and upper body.
Decoration:   West Slope style with two sets of horizontal grooved bands, a single band at lower and a double band at upper handle attachment levels. Inscribed egg-and-dart decoration between bands. Black glaze all over.
Material:   Fine reddish-yellow clay with few fine black, rare fine to small red, fine to medium spherical to platy sub-angular white, fine sparkling inclusions. Rare fine voids.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 8/4 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., preserving foot, stem, 3/4 body, both handles, most of lip except for 1 fragment. Black glaze preserved in most parts but worn.
