Decoration: | Black-figure decoration. Two horizontal lines at lip; animal frieze: on each side, one siren with spread wings flanked by two sphynxes. Below figured zone broad black and purple band; very short, thin, closely-spaced rays. Filling ornament: rare unincised blobs and dots, some irregular rosette with incisions. Interior fully glazed except for two reserved bands below lip. Edges of foot painted; resting surface reserved; undersurface with four concentric lines around central dot. | |
