One-piece kantharos with flaring ring foot with groove, flat resting surface, convex undersurface. Body has wide flare to median and contracts in a convex curve to the vertical tapered lip. Two vertical spur handles attached above median to just below lip, where there is a small bolster. Similar to P 13372 (Agora XXIX.1 p. 95, no. 162, fig. 12, cf. p. 95 note 56 for further comparanda) | ||
Decoration: | Dull black glaze inside and out, five incised circumference lines above foot (it's possible that these are not intentional decoration but turning marks), incised circumference line at handle zone, white painted necklace pattern above, incised circumference line below lip. | |
Dull black glaze inside and out. Three incised horizontal lines at ca. 0.03 from lip and another line immediately below lip define handle zone including necklace with added white pendants. | ||
