Description:   Thymiaterion base formed from two separate piece. Lower handmade, square, slightly recessed on underside; two opposing sides curve inward from bottom, two curve outward; corner extended outward at lower ends to form small projections. Upper part of base wheel-made, round, resting directly on lower part; disk-shaped, side slightly concave; top surface of disk flat around edge, but crving upward in center to form stem; two continuous grooves at top of curve.
Decoration:   Completely covered in black glaze, except for underside and grooves on stem with matt red paint.
Writing:   inscribed. Possible incised letter on top of disk, in Greek: L
Material:   Fine, hard, slightly micaceous buff clay.
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., preserving base and part of stem. Fairly good quality black glaze very chipped and worn. Traces of matt red paint.
