Description:   Amphora with round bottom, attenuated oval body with max. diam. below shoulder, sloping shoulder curving into cylindrical neck with sharp bulge at upper handle attachments, torus rim. Two vertical strap handles, unsymmetrically ridged, attached to base of shoulder and neck ridge, smeared at lower attachments. Sarachane type 5, Riley LR amphora 1A.
Decoration:   Wheel-ridging on bottom, broad stepped ridges on body, wheel-ridging on upper body to base of shoulder.
Writing:   dipinto. Dipinti in red on shoulder in four places, including 4 lines under surviving handle.
Material:   Medium hard very pale brown clay with fairly smooth break; white, red and gray inclusions, including few to frequent subrounded to angular tabular white and gray moderately large, and few rounded spherical to tabluar red inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/3
Condition:   Complete profile. Numerous joining frgts., complete profile; most of bottom, 7/8 body and shoulder, nearly all neck and rim, one handle, attachments for 2nd. Surface partly discolored gray.
