Description:   Convex bowl, possibly oval in shape, flat bottom, straight flaring body, inward thickened rim continuing angle of body, and forming flangeon interior offset by groove, tapering lip.
Decoration:   2 partial decorative stamps on floor: 1 circular motif with impressed decoration, 1 square with diagonal cross-hatching. Red slip over all but undersurface, drip on undersurface. See Hayes, 1972, African Red Slip Decorative Patterns #69, Type A (iii).
Material:   Fine orangish red clay with frequent fine white inclusions and frequent mica; rare voids. Laminating fracture.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 7.5YR 6/6 Slip: 5YR 5/6
Condition:   Complete profile except for centre of floor, two joining fragments 1/8 circumference of rim, rim and lip heavily chipped, slip worn and blackened on lip. No burning.
