Description:   Conical bowl with low base ring, narrow resting surface, conical undersurface. Wide straight flaring body rising at ca. 30 degrees and offset from base ring by 2 deep circumference grooves. From break it appears that tondo made separately in mould and attached to wheelmade (?) vessel. Presumably because of floor's great thickness, cracks in undersurface.
Decoration:   On floor, tondo in high relief: boy riding a dolphin, directed lt.; dolphin's body horizontal with tail curling back and up so that two tips frame head of boy. Boy, somewhat summarily modeled, sits astride dolphin's back, holding on with both hands; apparently nude; features indistinct. Tondo rises slightly above surrounding floor. Lustrous gray-black glaze over all.
