Description:   Large open shape with slightly convex body wall, on to which applied a Gorgoneion in relief. Head frontal, hair arranged in waves over forehead, layered wig framing face and neck; horizontally set bulbous eyes, flattened nose with broad nostrils, leering mouth with sharp teeth; large ears set at height of eyes.
Decoration:   Traces of black glaze over all.

Material:   Core: coarse clay fired greenish-yellow to salmon where thickest, with ca. 5% fine to coarse angular spherical and tabular black to red mudstone inclusions, fewer coarse lime inclusions; relief: fine clay with possibly only lime inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Near 2.5Y 7/3
Condition:   Single frgt., preserving face, missing part of hair on right side and base; broken all edges. Traces of glaze, face worn.
