Description:   Transport/storage amphora with body articulated from low sloping shoulder (A, B), tall cylindrical neck, tapering slightly, outward thickened vertical rim with slight convex profile, round lip. Two vertical handles, oval in section, attached to shoulder and curving down slightly from top to upper neck. Fine slip over all.
Writing:   dipinto and stamp. Small square stamp on neck between handles: ligature: Pi Alph; traces of dipinto to lt.: vertical stroke in red.
Material:   Fine reddish yellow micaceous clay, fired very pale brown at surface, with few medium dark brown and red inclusions, rare large white inclusions, frequent or common medium sparkling inclusions, and rare medium voids.
Munsell Color:   Clay: 5YR 6/6 (reddish yellow); Slip: 10YR 8/3 (very pale brown) but redder
Condition:   Fragment. Eighteen joining frgts., preserving part of shoulder, almost complete neck, 3/4 rim, and both handles. Non-joininf frgt. In lot.
