Description:   Amphora with low flaring ring foot, flat resting surface and slightly curved undersurface. Tall ovoid body with max. diam. ca. H00.165-00.17, tall neck with concave sides flaring to outward thickened rim with convex profile, rounded lip. Two vertical strap handles attached to shoulder and to neck above the median. Identical with C 1999 52.
Decoration:   Undersurface and resting surface of foot reserved. Exterior of foot, body, neck and rim black glazed except for reserved areas: On shoulder below handles and above max. diam., two thin reserved stripes on either side of band reserved and decorated with opposed groups of parallel oblique lines with reserved triangles between the groups of lines (see Corinth VII.I, N35). On neck reserved rectangular panel, in center of each side: cross; in 4 corners square filled with diagonal cross-hatching in glaze; on one face cross drawn with single line (decoration very poorly preserved), on other with double line. On interior of rim, glazed band set below lip. On handle backs horizontal bars from top to bottom with vertical stripe along either side. Identical with C 1999 52.
Material:   Fine pale yellow clay with few medium black and white inclusions and voids.

Condition:   Complete or intact. Almost complete mended from many joining fragments. Missing chips from rim, body and foot; numerous small holes (over ten) on body. Many chips kept in Lot 2002 033. Glaze largely worn away.
