Description:   Coarseware amphora with flat base, tall ovoid body curving continuously to short, wide, cylindrical neck with concave sides rising to outturned rim with squared lip. Two vertical oval handles attached to top of neck below rim and shoulder. Two deep thumbprints at the base of each handle. See Hesperia 1999, p. 106-107, C 63 650 (MG I), C 82 133 (MG I or II).
Material:   Coarse orange clay fired buff on the core and outer surface, with common large to very large tabular angular dark red and black inclusions and rare large to very large spherical rounded lime inclusions

Condition:   Complete profile. Complete profile. Numerous joining fragments preserving complete base, 2/3 body, complete neck and rim, both handles. Three possible nonjoining pieces kept in Lot 2002 32.

Findspot Description:   The amphora was found in situ (B98) standing upright in fill against the eastern face of the sarcophagus. Two pieces were found in the Hell. pit (B93, 73), and one in the RT 85R (B22).
