Description: | Cooking fabric flanged casserole (Casserole II by Edwards) with round bottom, deep echinoid body, flaring rim articulated from body, with vertical squared lip; interior flange for lid; horizontal round loop handle begins at upper body and is attached to the sides of the rim, rises diagonally and projects above rim. Similar to C 1946 91 (Corinth VII.3, p. 126, no. 671, pls. 29, 62) and C 1946 135 (Corinth VII.3, p. 126, no. 679, pls. 29, 62). | |
Material: | Coarse red clay with frequent fine to large spherical to platy sub-rounded to angular white, rare small to large spherical to tabular angular red, rare fine sparkling inclusions. | |
