Description:   Mortar with convex body, incised line on joining inner edge of rim and body, heavy downturned rim, rounded lip; flat spout passes through rim, with raised grooves separating it from rim, trapezoidal in plan and section, narrowing from 0.07 at interior edge to 0.027 at exterior edge. Rim flares to accommodate spout, tapering to pointed extremities between the concave, sloping-outward edge of the spout. Similar to C-62-31, C-03-4.
Writing:   stamp. Two identical rectangular stamps, set vertically across rim on either side of spout; Latin, single line of block letters: ISMAR[ on left, ISMA[ ]I on right; thus, the stamp must have read ISMARI.
Material:   Pinkish coarse clay with common large gold and silver mica, grog, quartz, red and black inclusions on rim, abundant very large quartz, red and black inclusions on interior of body.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/4 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Two joining frgts., small section of body, 1/6 rim, nearly all of spout.
