Description:   Cyma kantharos with foot in two degrees, domed undersurface, flat resting surface, ovoid body with max. diam. below median, downturned tapered lip, vertical spur handle attached under the lip. Similar to C-1947-66 (Corinth VII.3, p. 79, no. 401, pl. 52) and C-1960-70 (Corinth VII.3, p. 79, no. 404, pl. 52).
Decoration:   Exterior and interior black glazed all over with color ranging from black to gray-brown to red-brown and glaze dripping down uninscribed Side B. Body reeded below handle zone, incised X underneath the handles. On Side B, handle zone is delineated by wheel grooving, suspended necklace pattern in handle zone in incision and added white paint. Necklace as C-1946-108 (Corinth VII.3, p. 86, no. 494, pl. 39).
Writing:   inscribed. On Side A, in the middle of the handle zone delineated by wheel grooving, Greek .
Material:   Fine pink clay.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/3 (pink).
Condition:   Complete profile. Several joining frgts preserving complete foot, 4/5 body, 4/5 lip, both handles. Glaze well preserved on the exterior, worn in the interior. RIP. Lead mending strip attaching upper handle on exterior and interior, mending hole drilled next to it.
