Description:   Miniature pyxis with slightly flaring disk foot, uneven resting surface; ovoid body, flattened shoulder curves sharply inward and ends in vertical tapered lip around wide mouth. Two horizontal loop handles canted on top of shoulder with apex pinched inward. Similar to C-1971-86 and C-1971-96.
Decoration:   Black glaze on exterior upper half of body, shoulder and handles, completely glazed on interior. As C-1971-86.
Material:   Light very pale brown clay fired pink at core with rare medium to very large rounded brown and angular red inclusions and rare rounded voids.
Munsell Color:   Surface: 10YR 8/3 (very pale brown); Core: 7.5YR 8/4 (pink)
Condition:   Complete profile. Nine joining frgts., preserving most of vessel, except top of one handle and small portion of rim. Glaze completely worn except for traces on shoulder and handles. String marks on resting surface of foot.
