Description: | Amphora with rounded bottom, ovoid body with constricted lower half, tapering neck, outward thickened rim, rounded lip, one part of rim with excess overhanging clay, vertical highswung oval handles attached to shoulder and middle neck, at lower handle attachments central impressed hole on handle back, one circular and one triangular. General similarity to Guensenin Type 2 (BCH Suppl. XVIII, 1989, pp. 267-276) but in the Corinth example the lower half is more constricted, the handles are not attached to the rim and flare out to a greater degree, and the rim is thinner and smaller. | |
