Description:   Late Roman Amphora 1 with ovoid body, convex shoulder, vertical spined handle attached at shoulder. Attempted circular hole under dipinto, hole cut on opposite side at lower end of body: amphora in preparation stages for secondary use as settling basin in drain system (?).
Writing:   dipinto. Dipinto on shoulder between handles, Greek: LUXP with X-P ligatured. See Kenchreai IV, RC 23.
Material:   Coarse very pale brown clay fired pink at core with 5% medium, with occasional large, white and 1% micaceous inclusions
Munsell Color:   Surface: 10 YR 8/4 (very pale brown), Core: 2.5 YR 7/6 (pink)
Condition:   Fragment. Numerous joining frgs, preserving almost complete body, missing base and from neck up; part of one handle at shoulder; one nonj sherd left in Lot 2011 10 .
