Description: | Bowl with base curving downward slightly (foot not preserved). Body is vertical, with moulding below rim and above base. Rim is squared. Interior curves outward slightly and tapers into base. | |
Decoration: | Thin reddish-black glaze. Moulding below rim consists of two grooves. Moulding above base has two shallower grooves. Two scenes, divided by a tree: on left, female figure with thyrsos walks to the left while a male figure (satyr?), nude except for belt, moves to the right with arm upraised. On right, male figure walking to the right with basket (of fruit?) on head, object (thyrsos?) in right hand. After Spitzer's Type III, Fig. 16 c, k. Perhaps from the same mould as C-33-445? (Spitzer p. 189) | |
