Description:   Krater, FS 281-2. Ring base, maximum diamter near base of zone, everted rim.
Decoration:   Surface slightly lustrous and wet-smoothed. Band at rim in and out, 3 bands below zone, band at juncture of foot and body and a second band just above. In zone, one virtually complete antithetic spiral flanking panel (2) with horizontal dash fill. An antitheti spiral, either this same one or more probably an equivalent one of the opposite side of the vase, is flanked by a panel (2) with horizontal wavy line fill. On the other side (left) of the first antithetic spiral is a loop which appears to be part of an antithetic spiral springing from below rathr than pendant from above.
Material:   fine clay with a good deal of small grit
Munsell Color:   Fracture: 7.5 YR 7.4 (pink) becoming 10 YR 7/3 (very pale brown) near surface; surface: 2.5 Y 8/2 (white); paint: 5 YR 3/2 (dark reddish brown) to 2.5 YR 4/8 (red)
Condition:   Complete profile. Mended from 14 sherds into 3 non-joining fragments. Full profile preserved. All of base, ca. 20% of body, less than 5% of rim, and none of handles preserved.
