Description:   Deep bowl in variegated ware. Slgihtly drawn-out hemispherical profile to simple tapered rim. Four vertically set, horizontally pierced lugs set evenly around body, mid points c. 0.035 below rim.
Decoration:   Inside, pale orangey-buff at rim. Outside, basal area blackish-gray, upper c. 0.100 going pale orange-buff, lightly polished. Some superficial blistering of fabric.
Material:   Fine fabric, fine light and some dark inclusions, slightly micaceous; fired blackish-gray at bottom and through core at least 3/5 of way up. Remainder pale orangey buff.
Condition:   Complete profile. Single fragment mended from 45 joining sherds, preserving c. 4/5 rim, complete profile, 3/5 pot. RIP. Some chipping. Traces remain of finer polish. One lug surviving only in scar. Three mendholes, pair and singleton, preserved, drilled from outside.
