Description:   Antefix attached to semi-circular cover tile. Face decorated in relief with 11-petaled palmette, edges cut to mirror petals, central petal taller, other slightly dropping, all smooth and convex. Petals radiate from centrally placed face with rounded forehead, deeply hollowed eyes, projecting round cheeks, snub nose and flat chin. Beneath face are two double scrolls curling from base of face to edge of surface then curling back up towards the palmette. Below scrolls are two small palmettes flanking a lotus (?). The two small palmettes have equal sized rounded petals radiating from a heart resting on edge of scroll. Lotus is upside down with two drooping petals rising from heart which rests at junction of scrolls. Base is articulated with a single raised ridge. Projections flare out as the edge of antefix rises from the base, just above the level of the scrolls. Back is flat with vertical finger strokes. Exactly as FA 2001-001 (from the same mould?).
Decoration:   Traces of reddish brown paint throughout face.
Material:   Moderately coarse reddish yellow clay with few small to large rounded white lime and angular gray inclusions and rare medium voids.
Munsell Color:   7.5YR 7/6 to 8/6 (reddish yellow)
Condition:   Complete profile. One fragment, complete antefix, chipped at bottom and on tips of palmettes, cover tile broken.
