Description: | Archaic palmette antefix at end of triangular cover which provides rectangular face below free-standing 7-petal palmette, leaves alternating red and black, vertical leaf black; light ground. Stems below palmette ogee type, gathered by broad band under spherical-triangular palmette center; tendrils curl to round top edge of rectangular face below palmette. Inverted three-leaf flower between tendrils recessed, as A-102. Close to A-16, A-12, A-102. | |
Material: | Yellowish buff with pink core, mudstone particles, yellowish buff slip; purple and brownish-black glaze. | |
Condition: | Fragment. Broken around edges, missing all of lower right side, left side intact, missing cover (except a trace) and pan. Paint well preserved, but flaked. NOTE: Feb. 24, 1981 - Fell off shelf in Asklepion Room and damaged during earthquake. | |
