Description:   Tall 11-leaf palmette with mushroom heart, designed for terracotta lateral sima. Complete plaque with horizontal plain bottom band with plastic rib above. Above, two antithetic tendrils rise from corners of plaque, main stalk goes inward, almost horizontally, curving up and out under palmette heart. Top ends of tendrils biforcate under leaf diagonally striated. Pendant five-leaf palmette with two leaves above, handing from point where tendrils meet. Central petal of palmette round-ended, side petals long, almost tendrils. Erect 11-petal palmette has drooping, pointed ends, except for axial petal, which rises well above other, perhaps originally pointed. For similar exs. cf. Material:   Moderately coarse clay with scattered white inclusions, voids; fired pink at core, light tan surface.
Munsell Color:   Slightly pinker than 10YR 7/4
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., complete antefix plaque; broken at start of neck; bottom and 5th petals chipped on lt. side.
