Description:   Part of left side of lionhead spout of 6th c. temple, including part of ear and of "flame-locks" in front of and just below ear. Traces below of smaller locks beside cheek and of the inner corner of the mouth. Cf. FS 1080 for 2nd spout. For parallel Cyggve and Poulsen, Laphrion 1948, pls. XXII, XXIII.
Decoration:   Small black dots inside ear, with radiating black lines around outer edge. This wash of reddish yellow on locks, applied more heavily toward tips. Traces oc smooth cheek. Inner side of lip painted black, with traces of one tooth.
Material:   Hard coarse clay with numerous small and large black and a few red inclusions (to 5 mm.). Fine slip, up to 5 mm. thick. Clay fired very pale brown throughout, 10YR 7/3.5.
Condition:   Fragment. Three joining fragments, part of proper left side of head.
