| Description: | Terracotta sima with projecting bottom fascia 0.025 high, projection 0.013, surmounted by molded vertical face (P.H. 0.078). The molded face is decorated with a fluted acanthus stalk (likely to be curving outward from missing lionhead, and from which spring two volutes). Volute composed of two smooth coils, pendant poppy pod at left. Similar to architectural terracottas FS-1048 (Bookidis & Stroud 1997, Corinth 18.3, cat. 39), FS-130 (Thallon-Hill and King, Corinth 4.1, cat. S130), and FS-147 (Thallon-Hill and King, Corinth 4.1, cat. S147). | |
