Description:   Lionhead spout, detached from sima. Lion with low narrow forehead, incised eyebrow, shallowset eye, outlined by lids incised for lashes, punched hole for pupil; nostril impressed, 3 incised whiskers, open mouth with teeth rendered but not separated from background; lion made rendered as single row of long tufts, each deeply scored.
Decoration:   Substantial remains of white slip over all.
Material:   Fine red clay with rare tiny white, black inclusions.
Munsell Color:   Slightly yellower than 5YR 6/6
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., proper right side of head, mane; missing lower jaw, chin; white slip incompletely preserved.
