Description:   Large-scale sima with flat cyma reversa, above which outset moulding - either cavetto or cyma reversa missing crown. Top surface flat. At rt. part of overlapping joint with front flange broken away, Th. 00.041, back half 00.030-00.032 thick.
Decoration:   Reserved on black background: anthemion with 11-petal palmette outlined in broad careless brush strokes, central petal pointed, others rounded in broad careless brush strokes, central petal pointed, others rounded and drooping; flower with notched petals turning over and painted red where back shows. On crown: inverted eggs (?) with red centers, double black outline against reserved ground. Top and back slipped. Cf. FS-XXXX-51.
Material:   Coarse pinkish-buff clay with coarse to fine red mudstone inclusions, dense admixture. Fine slip.
Munsell Color:   Between 7.5YR 7/6 and 5YR 7/6
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving upper two-thirds of face with lower half crowning moulding, top and back; broken left end. Face partly defaced.
