Description:   Undersurface paddled and incised with parallel striations. Face: vertical fascia H00.031, above which outset cyma reversa H00.069 probably without crowning moulding. Lateral face: fascia H00.044 with no element above; fascia set at 84 degree a
Decoration:   All surfaces slipped except undersurface. Decorated in light-on-dark: soffit: outer edges lined with red band W00.018-00.032. Both fasciae: maeander-checkerboard. Raking cyma: alternating anthemion-palmette chain; 11-petal palmette had bottom leaves S-shaped, ends turning upward; spade-shaped palmette heart inverted with axial vein in red; end of tendrils turn down under palmettes, loop up to meet anthemion on either side of inverted tear-drop. Lion: matt black pupil, outline of iris, line along upper lid; fine lines for furrow of brow.
Material:   Coarse buff clay, cream slip.
Condition:   Complete profile. Several joining frgts., preserving complete profile, missing right side and lower half of spout; broken either end. FS-859: spout; FS-861: rest of tile.
