Decoration: | All surfaces slipped except undersurface. Decorated in light-on-dark: soffit: outer edges lined with red band W00.018-00.032. Both fasciae: maeander-checkerboard. Raking cyma: alternating anthemion-palmette chain; 11-petal palmette had bottom leaves S-shaped, ends turning upward; spade-shaped palmette heart inverted with axial vein in red; end of tendrils turn down under palmettes, loop up to meet anthemion on either side of inverted tear-drop. Lion: matt black pupil, outline of iris, line along upper lid; fine lines for furrow of brow. | |
