Description:   From pan/cover tile; the cover element ends in an antefix (just a trace preserved). Cf. 85-84-29 group, also FA 564.
Decoration:   The front edge of the tile decorated with guilloche pattern carefully worked; centers are laid out and circular elements inscribed with a compass. The guilloche consists of a central eye painted black and spirals (alternately red and black) consisting of a broad painted band (c. 0.015 m.) enclosed by 2 reserved bands (0.007 m.). Centers of eyes are 0.0535 m. apart. Red paint on bottom and left side is possibly the remains of an adhesive material.
Material:   Hard yellowish-buff clay with much black grit; fine yellow slip.
Condition:   Fragment. From left edge of eaves tile, surmounted by antefix (only 0.01 m. of lower edge remaining) in one piece; broken top, right, and behind; surface color well-preserved.
