Description:   Corinthian eaves tile: flat pan, with triangular rim, vertical outer face, flat lip. On right face, a flat band along front part of lower edge, 0.025 wide, projecting 0.007, pres. L. 0.103, for locking into neighboring tile. Decorative panel on underside corresponds in width to projecting band.
Decoration:   Front underside of tile decorated with a stripe of dilute glaze (W. 0.019), purple stripe (W. 0.011), an anthemion-palmette chain in light on black background. Preserved is half of lotus or honeysuckle with one upright petal, single slender sepal lying horizontally under petal, and curling down at tip to left; beneath, part of tendril linking honeysuckle to missing palmette; beneath this, row of beads.
Material:   Coarse yellow clay with 3-5 large angular black mudstone inclusions; fine slip

Condition:   Fragment. Single fragment preserving right edge, complete height, broken three sides; decorative border incomplete.

Findspot Description:   Mike Ierardi and Gretchen Umholtz found the tile in the collapsed tile pile west of west temple, T-U:16-17 (April 2015); NB believes that it came from excavations on the top of the Upper Terrace.
