Description:   Rectangular block: bottom, possible anathyrosis along front edge, rest worked with coarse claw; face: bottom moulding on front face only: full Ht. 0.148: cavetto with upright acanthus leaf H00.042, ovolo with egg-dart H00.045, cyma reversa largely broken away with leaf-dart. Surface cut back 0.14 to vertical face H00.41 with narrow fascia at bottom, surface smoothed. Top roughly picked: dowel 00.08 square set in 00.17 from rt. edge, 00.215 from front, pour channel L00.23 extending toward back, metal in it; small conical cutting 00.395 in from rt. edge, largely broken, depth 00.07; large oval cutting c. 00.84 in from rt. edge, 00.40 from front face, P.L. 00.14, depth 00.12. Low relief decoration on rt. face: at lt. cross with double cross arm (?) within an arch; to rt. maltese cross in a circle.
Writing:   inscribed. Inscribed in Greek above and below rt. cross: +DHMHTRIOS+ / DOULO XU
Material:   Fine white marble.
Condition:   Complete profile. Single frgt., preserving all but left end; base moulding missing on right side, and right end of front face; half of front missing above moulding.
