Description:   Inscription on top face of marble block reused in repair of steps; inscription was probably cut when block was already in fragmentary condition (i.e. broken faces original to inscription).
Writing:   inscribed. Graffito inscription on top face of step, EUSAMBATIS; LH 00.030-00.040, roughly cut, lunate sigmas, occasional but inconsistant use of serifs, probably 3rd or 4th cent. A.C.
Material:   marble
Condition:   Fragment. Portions of top, left, and front faces original; left half of front broken away; right side broken away; back and bottom not visible; viewed from above, block is L-shaped (originally rectangular).
