Description:   Greek inscription, poorly cut. Variously restored by other publications. Caution is warranted on date since the epitaph is not associated with a specific tomb and from a problematic context.
Decoration:   Below inscription: incised bird, facing left, with lines indicating feathers and wing.
Writing:   inscribed. Three lines in Greek.
Material:   Bluish marble.
Condition:   Fragment. Single frgt., preserving right edge.
Chronology:   Walbank: early 7th century CE; Sironen 5th or 6th century CE. Dating by month day and year of indiction becomes common in 6ht century CE.
