Description: | Epitsyle frieze angle block. Right end cut with beginning of apse and rebate at back. Profile of Type A, on return type B, the rope moulding. Back treated with three fascias. Now on foundation of Colossal Façade, west block of restoration of apse. | |
Composite capital, use of drill very evident. | ||
Thick narrow slab, smoothly finished in front, back roughly picked; block thinner at top, thickening near bottom; oblique strokes on back as if from breaking up; top and bottom edges have smooth band along front face, back roughly picked. | ||
Epistyle frieze angle block, rebate at right. Profile of Type A. Back roughly hewn. Now in gap in foundation of Colossal Façade, east of restoration of apse. | ||
Doric capital with fluted shaft - originally 16 flutes of which only 9 executed; back unfluted but rounded. Steep flaring echinus with 3 annulets, curving in slightly against abacus. Square cutting in echinus for grill. Square empolion cutting on bottom | ||
