Description:   Terracotta mould for head of male comic actor. Long, narrow face, thick head of short, smooth hair coming to peak in middle. Prominent, perhaps slightly waved brows, large eyes, high, prominent cheek bones, small nose, wide, nearly closed mouth with slight grin. Wide, shortish, somewhat pointed beard. Head (H. 0.027). Solid. Handmade from model. Similar to KH-43 (cat. 45), KH-44 (cat. 46). Mask H (MMC 3rd ed.).
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine brownish yellow clay with few to no inclusions.
Munsell Color:   10 YR 6/6 (brownish yellow)
Condition:   Missing parts. Missing portion of upper right side which formed part of hair; vertical break mended; mould nearly complete. Mold still sharp.
Manufacture:   F08 M HM
Period:   4th c. B.C.
Chronology:   ca. 350-325 B.C. (Stillwell and Benson 1984, Corinth 15.3, p. 211), based on style and deposit.
