Description:   Mould for head of comic actor. Back rounded, roughly smoothed; back surface has partly broken away, possibly at juncture between two layers applied to patrix. Impression: head with hair cut square around face and with round protuberance just above forehead. Face long with brows raised at outer corners, protruding large eyes, snub nose, creased cheeks, very wide mouth, partly open and surrounded by smooth moustache which blends into pointed beard. Broad roughly flattened lip surrounds impression. Similar to KH 42 (inv. 44, from Deposit 4), KH 43 (inv. 45, also from Deposit 3), and KH 44 (inv. 46, also from Deposit 3). Likely mould for inv. XIX, 12 (Stillwell 1958, Corinth 15.2).
Decoration:   Undecorated.
Material:   Fine clay fired pale pinkish buff on interior, slightly darker on exterior, with rare very fine inclusions and rare fine voids
Munsell Color:   10YR 7/4 to 7.5YR 7/4
Condition:   Complete profile. complete except for part of surface of back.
